Perfect pairing of collage style real photo postcards depicting the roster of the 1937-38 Trail Smoke Eaters. The Smokies would become champions of the British Columbia League that year and go on to capture the Allan Cup as Canadian Senior Amateur Hockey Champions. By winning the 1938 Allan Cup, the Trail Smoke Eaters also won the right to represent Canada at the 1939 World Ice Hockey Championships tournament in Basle and Zurich, Switzerland. Then came a 55-game European tour that saw them lose only one game and tie another. En route to winning the 1939 World Championships, the Smoke Eaters outscored their opponents 42 - 1. Never before or since has the tournament seen such an exhibition of dominance. Offered are two wonderful vintage postcards from the1937-38 season of this historic team. Both are in near excellent condition, one with penciled notes on the reverse.
