Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
One of Montreal’s early successful teams which held the Stanley Cup in 1906, 1907, 1908 and 1910, the Montreal Wanderers featured several players who would later be elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame. The likes of Lester Patrick, Art Ross, Harry Hyland, Jack Marshall, Ernie Russell, Riley Hern, Hod Stuart and Gordon Roberts all wore the Wanderers red and white uniform and had a chance to drink from Lord Stanley’s precious bowl. This pin, in the shape of a hockey stick and with “Wanderers” along the red and black blade, measures approximately 2 3/4” from end to end and has survived in marvelous condition. The question of who originally owned it comes to one’s mind!
