Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Mostly famous old buildings where hockey was played are featured in this splendid lot. Leading the way is one picturing the Bruins and Canadiens lined up for the national anthems prior to the first ever regular season game played in 1929 at Boston’s legendary “Garden.” Others picture the outsides of Maple Leaf Gardens, Chicago Stadium (3 different), Madison Square Garden (5 different of two different Gardens), St. Louis Arena (3) and St. Louis Coliseum. There are exterior and interior views of the arena in Lake Placid and interior views of Hershey’s arena (2 different), Cincinnati Garden and Blythe Arena in Squaw Valley, California. Completing the collection is a 1910-postdated card showing the McGill University hockey team playing on an outdoor rink and a similar era card from Europe with mountains in the background and picturing both men and women pursuing the puck. All are in nice collectible condition.
