Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Canada’s capital city has a long and rich hockey history dating back to the 1800’s and it was in Ottawa that Lord Stanley donated his famous trophy. This tall, handled trophy is impressive as well with fancy engraving on one side reading “Ottawa Journal Interdepartmental Hockey Championship.” With a 4” high wooden base which is 7” in diameter, the trophy rises to 17 1/2” with the winners from 1922 to 1926 engraved on the opposite side. The Editorial Department won the trophy in ’23 and ’24 while “Night Mechanical” claimed it in ’25 and ’26. Fantastic silver-plated trophy is in excellent condition, displays removable tarnish and will be a handsome addition to a trophy display.
