Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Several of the players who had a major part to play in the Detroit Red Wings’ still record run of seven consecutive regular season championships from 1948-49 to 1954-55 took pen to puck in recent years to produce this fantastic six-pack. Gordie Howe added his famous number “9” and “Mr Hockey” in silver ink to a Wings souvenir logo puck while “Production Line” linemates Sid Abel and Ted Lindsay signed in gold ink, as did defenceman Red Kelly, the latter on an official game puck. Another Hall of Fame blueliner, Marcel Pronovost, and deceased goaltender Harry Lumley autographed souvenir pucks in silver with all six of the sigs falling into the tough-to-hope-for-nicer category. Recalling the powerful Detroit teams of the 1950’s, this lot is a keeper that will stand the test of time.
