Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Neat piece recalls Canada's most important goal in international hockey competition and has been signed by the man who scored it in September of 1972. Paul Henderson's fine black marker signature is apposed on a black and white 8” by 10” photograph and has been professionally triple-matted in red, white and black and framed to 15" by 18". Photo captures Henderson and Cournoyer celebrating moments after “The Shot Heard Around The World” when Henderson scored against Vladislav Tretiak in the final minute of the epic 8-game series between Canada and the Soviet Union. Oh, what a feeling close to 35 years later!
