Overtime Christmas Auction #9

A popular part of Montreal's La Presse newspaper's weekend rotogravure section were these colorized photos of sports stars. They were heavy on hockey content, but also included some baseball and other sport stars. This one of legendary slugger Babe Ruth has been nicely double-matted and framed to approximately 16" by 23". Dated Saturday, October 13, 1928 and on newsprint, the piece includes a caption in French that mentions how the Yankees outfielder has been the home run king for years, how he is the most popular baseball figure and that he earns a bigger salary than that of the president of the United States. Some light creasing/rippling is visible only upon close inspection along the middle of the left edge. A wonderful display for "Babe" collectors to consider.
