Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Splendid relic pictures members of the ’38-39 Saskatoon Quakers and reveals that they were “Winners – Saskatchewan Senior League.” The players are featured in full-body poses and joined by team executives and coach Marty Burke, a former NHLer who suited up for the Canadiens, Senators and Black Hawks. Just one player, defenceman Gordon “Tony” Savage saw NHL action, appearing in eight games for the Bruins and 41 games for the Canadiens in ‘34-35. Postmarked in March of 1939 in Saskatoon and with its one-cent stamp still intact, the glossy card is in nice presentable VG condition with small light creases mostly limited to the corners and edges. Neat vintage Senior hockey souvenir.
