Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Before joining the Montreal Canadiens in the 1960-61 season, speedy winger Gilles Tremblay starred with the Hull-Ottawa Canadiens, both as a junior and then when the team joined the EPHL. This plaque was done up in recent years to commemorate Gilles ’57-58 junior season, after which he was named the team’s most valuable player. An old Jelinek puck which Gilles had in his possession was mounted on a nice wooden plaque with an engraved plate added above. Gilles went on to have five 20+ goal seasons with Montreal, helping the Habs to three Stanley Cup titles before being forced to retire because of asthma. Remaining close to the game, he became a respected analyst on French-language telecasts and earned induction into the Hall of Fame as a broadcaster.
