Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
A famous producer of numerous NHL players including Frank Mahovlich and Dave Keon, just to name a couple, St. Michael’s College’s hockey reputation is legendary. This pure wool v-neck team sweater was originally obtained from Larry Keenan, who suited up for the “Majors” for three OHA seasons (’58-61) before getting into a couple of games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in ’61-62. Expansion gave Larry a real NHL chance as he made stops in St. Louis, Buffalo and Philadelphia. A Gordon Mackey company tag is in the neck along with a size “44” tag. A terrific and thick blue chenille/navy felt crest is sewn on the front and the sweater has been preserved in fantastic condition, showing very little wear and just a few tiny stains (specs) beneath the “M”. Like those who wore St. Mike’s colors, you’ll be proud to own this beauty!
