Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Terrific Czech jersey is mostly a mesh affair by Adidas and was worn by "Uvira" during the gold medal game of the 1985 World Championships in Prague in which the home team defeated Canada. Players from the two sides traded sweaters afterwards with Rick Vaive obtaining this one. Ironically, the two players had several battles during the game and Vaive relates the story of how he was responsible for the big 6-inch rip on the back of the jersey! Burns on the sleeves left a half dozen holes, three of them sizeable. That's a sewn-on crest, a velvet-like number and sewn-on name on the mesh nameplate. A LOA will be included with this great international jersey.
