Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Terrific little felt pennant recalls the Senior hockey exploits of the Penticton, British Columbia “Vees” who captured the Allan Cup in 1953-54 and who brought home the World Championship in 1955. The Vees, named after a type of peach that grows in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley near Penticton, included the likes of the Warwick brothers; Grant, Bill and Dick, and Bernie Bathgate, brother of Hall-of-Famer Andy. Penticton took the world title in 1955, beating the Russians 5-0 in Germany. White-on-green pennant measures 11” and has been preserved in outstanding condition with no pinholes.
