Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
An official program for the four games in Canada between the NHL stars and the best from the Soviet Union in 1972 and a scarce sterling silver coin from the memorable confrontation highlight this formidable lot. The EX+ condition program pictures and profiles the two teams, Canada’s coaches and the four cities (Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver) in which the games were played. The coin is 2-inches in diameter and is stamped “Sterling” on the edge, while two generic players battle for the puck on one side, with crossed flags, “Hockey Canada 1972” and “Canada vs USSR” on the other. Completing the tempting trio is a puck trophy commemorating the series and with the scores of all eight games listed on the back of the puck. In near mint condition and memory-provoking!
