Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Always interesting are NHL “Standard Player’s Contract”s with this one having been signed prior to the ’64-65 season. Between Hall of Fame defenceman Harry Howell and the New York Rangers, it reveals that Howell earned $21,500 that year and that the same terms and conditions prevailed for the ’65-66 season. The reverse is signed in blue ballpoint by Howell and Ranger VP and GM Murray Patrick, while the front bears the fountain pen signature of then NHL president Clarence Campbell. All three signatures are beauties and the contract itself is in excellent shape with the usual fold lines and no notable flaws.
