Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Splendid rubber souvenir commemorates the founding of the NHL’s 500-goal club, a heroic feat accomplished by Maurice Richard in 1955 against the Chicago Black Hawks. The goal was scored on Glenn Hall at 15:52 of the first period in a 3-1 win on Forum ice, with assists going to Dickie Moore and Jean Beliveau. One side of the puck pictures a smiling Rocket, along with his facsimile autograph and “To A Young Fan” in both English and French. The back makes reference to the historic goal and includes the December 29, 1955 date. A scripted “Official” appears on the side of the puck which is in nice chip-free condition with however some wear to the screened-on red, white and blue graphics. Great souvenir of the Rocket for those who have yet to track one down.
