Renowned for his bone-jarring body checks, Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Ed Van Impe wore this white West Division All-Stars gamer during the 1974 NHL All-Star Game. Selected to the Second All-Star Team for the first half of the season by the NHL Writers' Association, Van Impe donned this fabulous white, orange and black durene in the mid-season classic, a 6-4 win by the West at the old Chicago Stadium on January 29, 1974 as St. Louis' Garry Unger claimed MVP honours. Classic 1970s NHL All Star gamer has Gerry Cosby size 50 tagging in the back of the neck. Everything is sewn-on including "Van Impe" in individual letters on the upper back above the number "3" which Ed wore because his customary #2 was already claimed by Chicago's Bill White. Beautifully preserved overall with game wear that includes light red paint transfer near the right sleeve cuff, black marks on the shoulders and sleeves, and faint marks on the front. Comes with Ed Van Impe's signed LOA. There is a reddish brown stain on the right back to the right of the sewn-on number, a smaller one on the bottom of the back side of the upper right sleeve, and a small spot on the shoulder seam at the top of the left sleeve.
