Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Winter 2023
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/28/2023
The father of former Chicago Black Hawks star and HOFer Bill Hay, Charles Hay was an important administrator with Hockey Canada, with his roll with the organization to include developing programs for coaching certification, student ice hockey scholarships, and hockey research. He also provided administrative guidance and negotiations for the famous Summit Series in 1972. Originally purchased directly from a Hay family estate sale, this framed display was presented to the Hay family upon his enshrinement to the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder. Featuring the Hall of Fame crest in the center, text placed above and below states his accomplishments with Hockey Canada along with the induction date of "August 22, 1974" (nearly one year after his death). Set in a wooden framed to full dimensions of approx 11" x 24 1/2", there is a small engraved name plate at the base, with just some honest wear to the frame. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
