Wayne Gretzky always had a flair for the dramatic at the NHL All-Star Game and he certainly rose to the occasion for his last one in Tampa in 1999. This magnificent framed display celebrates the Great One’s swan song when he was named All-Star Game MVP for the third time. Gretz placed a huge black marker autograph on the right breast of this authentic CCM 1999 NHL All-Star Game jersey that reads, “Wayne Gretzky 99, 1999 All Star MVP”. Limited-edition number “44/99” notation is handwritten below the autograph in black marker, with UDA hologram sticker with registry number BAM23706 affixed to its right that corresponds to the accompanying UDA COA.
Gretzky had a goal and two assists to lead the North American All-Stars to an 8-6 win over the World All-Stars at Tampa Bay on January 24, 1999. He wore a dark red North American All-Stars jersey during the 1999 All-Star Game, and the World All-Stars wore this style of white jersey.
“Wayne Gretzky, 1999 All-Star Game, North America” reads the plaque at the bottom of the framed display. The jersey has size 54 and CCM flag tags in the back of the neck. A photo of Gretzky in action with the New York Rangers is at the bottom of the display along with two Rangers crests.
