Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
One of Motor City’s most beloved and venerated athletes, Steve Yzerman captained Detroit for 19 seasons, leading the Red Wings to an unprecedented 18 playoff campaigns during his tenure, missing the postseason only once, in 1989-90. We have a stick used by the superstar during the mid-1990s. A Victoriaville APT 7050 model in solid white with red and black accents, “Yzerman” is stamped over the upper shaft, with the original white tape over the blade and red-over-white cloth wrap on the handle. Exhibiting light use with wear to the taped section of blade along with a few marks and paint transfer to the shaft, the stick remains solid with no breaks or cracks, with a bit of the red cloth wrap over the handle loose. “1023.1” has also been handwritten in pencil on the underside of the lower shaft.
