Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Leading the OHA in 1962-63 with 76 points, Paul Henderson was called up for a pair of Detroit Red Wings contests late in the season before becoming a regular with the club, early in 1964. We have the important puck used by Henderson to score his very first NHL goal, vs Glenn Hall and the Chicago Black Hawks, at Chicago Stadium, on Jan 29, 1964. Netted late in the game and tying the score 2-2, the official NHL puck feature’s a rubberized Hawks logo on the obverse, with the NHL crest over the reverse partially covered with tape, with the important particulars handwritten including “1st NHL Goal in Chicago – Glenn Hall”. The Hawks logo displays beautifully, with just light wear including a few minor blemishes to the puck itself. A signed LOA from Paul Henderson will accompany.
