Produced for the Hockey Hall of Fame Postcard Series, this remarkable collection of original paintings of four early Ottawa hockey legends by artist Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid includes dual portraits of Cyclone Taylor, Punch Broadbent, King Clancy and Hooley Smith. Hockey’s original superstar, Taylor had a successful stay in Ottawa early in his Hall of Fame career, as a starring member of the 1909 Stanley Cup champion Senators. A key component of the NHL’s first dynasty, Broadbent claimed three Stanley Cups with the Ottawa Senators in the early-1920s, while Hall of Fame center Smith had 445 points including 200 goals, in 715 NHL regular season games. Clancy began his 16-year NHL career with Ottawa and won Stanley Cups with the Senators in 1923 and 1927. All four paintings were done on 14 1/2” x 20” professional illustration board, with each signed by the artist,“Mac ‘92”.
Each painting includes a matting with roughly 9” x 12 ½” viewable, with each of these detached.
