Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
Selected in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Black Hawks, Brian Noonan spent parts of seven seasons in The Windy City, moving on to the Rangers in 1994-95 after being traded along with Stéphane Matteau for Tony Amonte and Matt Oates. We have a photo-matched Black Hawks jersey worn by the Boston native in 1992-93. A Maska Ultrafil label and size “54” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with an absolutely gorgeous chain-stitched multi-coloured Indian head team crest, the solid white V-neck has been accented with black tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers with red trim, with matching chain-stitched Tomahawk alternate crests over each shoulder along with the Stanley Cup centennial patch over the right breast.
Exhibiting great use with marks over the front and sleeves along with paint transfer, there is a large stick mark over the reverse and additional red paint transfer near the left shoulder. Team repairs are also present, with a single example over the right sleeve, and six over the left. We should also note that the outline of a former NHL 75th anniversary patch is visible under/around the Centennial patch. A photo from the Black Hawks 1993-94 media guide has been matched to the slightly semi-circular black mark over the upper area of the left sleeve, and to the lighter mark just above it.
