Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Claiming the No. 8 spot on the all-time list of New York Rangers in the book 100 Ranger Greats, Andy Bathgate enjoyed a 17-season career that included four All-Star Game appearances along with the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player, in 1959. This stick was used by the Winnipegger during his time with the Blueshirts, circa early-to-mid-1960s. A Northland Pro Glass Fused model, “Bathgate” appears stamped over the upper shaft, with additional stamps from team supplier Gerry Cosby over each side of the shaft. The original black tape over the blade and white-over-black on the shaved handle remains intact, with nice game use exhibited on the lumber, with marks to the blade and shaft, along with some puckering to the blade tape. This is one of only a few Bathgate sticks we have ever offered from the HOFer.
