Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019

A prerequisite for any advanced science fiction movie poster collection, we have a pair of desirable original examples that first advertised one of the most celebrated films ever produced in the genre. Launching James Cameron’s career, The Terminator was released to critical acclaim in 1984, while also solidifying Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stature as a 1980s box office giant. The film’s synopsis can be best summed-up by the text on the offered original one sheet movie poster, “In the Year of Darkness, 2029, the rulers of this planet devised the ultimate plan. They would reshape the Future by changing the Past. The plan required something that felt no pity. No pain. No fear. Something unstoppable. They created The Terminator”. Folded over thrice, the 27” x 40” poster exhibits expected light wear at the fold lines, with the colours remaining especially bold with absolutely no fading, with just general handling wear present commensurate with its former use. A few small pinholes are also visible at each corner, with this a common occurrence, with all four corners remaining sharp. The second poster is a German example at 23” x 33”, with Deutscher text, made with a matte finish paper stock, with the colours again bright and completely undisturbed. Exhibiting a trio of horizontal fold lines along with a vertical example, just light wear is present, with sharp corners and no pinholes. Released by Orion Pictures and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn, Linda Hamilton, Paul Winfield, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Bess Motta, Earl Boen, Rick Rossovich, Dick Miller, Shawn Schepps, Bruce M. Kerner, Franco Columbu, and Brian Thompson, the film has a running time of 107 minutes.
