Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Nicknamed “Baldy” ironically as he sported a full head of hair, Lawrence Northcott played the bulk of his career with the Montreal Maroons, earning NHL First Team All-Star honours in 1932-33 before winning a Stanley Cup in 1935. We have a signed 1933-34 World Wide Gum Ice Kings card of the Calgary native, with this example encapsulated and certified “AUTHENTIC AUTO” by PSA/DNA. Signed to the right of his image, the signature exhibits minor fading, with the card itself in low grade, with corner wear, numerous creases and a small stain. The reverse has also been heavily damaged, with glue residue along with some of the paper and text missing from prior scrapbook removal. Northcott would pass two months after his 78th birthday, in 1986.
