Fantastic late 19th century hockey artifact is an ice polo stick from the 1880s/1890s. This short, one-piece wood stick with a hooked blade was used to play the frozen pond alternative game that was popular until ice hockey overtook it. "Raymond Lemieux" is written on one side of the shaft which has "No. 2" stenciled on the other side along with the player's "R.L." initials. The stick measures 40 inches from the tip of the blade to the top of the shaft. Overall, this antique piece makes a fine display piece with a few spots of white paint and shaved portions of the back edge of the bottom of the blade to note.
