Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
It was just like old times at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium on November 22, 2003, when a wind-chilled crowd of 57,167 were treated to an exhibition game pitting the Habs' legendary alumni against an all-star squad of Oilers greats headed by Wayne Gretzky. The Great One signed in blue Sharpie along the bottom of this framed (no glass) limited-edition 20" x 24" image of himself printed on canvas and displayed in a 30 1/4" x 34 1/2" frame. This magnificent signed print of Gretzky is hand-numbered “AP 1/10” (artists proof), and was purchased directly from WGA having remained in their offices since the original production. All of the offered pieces from this collection feature low or desirable limited-edition numbers. An LOA from JSA will accompany.
The signature exhibits just very slight bleeding, with a few tiny spots also present on the image along the upper left side, but these are mentioned for accuracy, and are barely noticeable. There is also some minor wear to the frame itself.
