Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
The first of its kind we’ve had the pleasure of handling, offered is a vintage money clip watch manufactured by Swiss maker Clinton with a Chicago Black Hawks engraving. At just under 2” in diameter (clip and watch), the circular watch face is encompassed by two rings that act as the clip, with “Chicago Black Hawks 1940-41” engraved onto the reverse along with "10K rolled gold plate". Exhibiting moderate wear including a somewhat dirty dial, the watch does tick when wound, but we’re unsure whether it keeps proper time. Led by captain Earl Siebert, the Black Hawks advanced to the second round of the 1941 Stanley Cup playoffs after defeating Montreal in a closely-contested first round battle.
