Produced during the “classic” era most appreciated by collectors, this lot offers a wonderful collection of vintage Coca-Cola serving trays totaling eight and ranging from the 1930s to 1960s. Included, we have the “Girl in Yellow Dress” from 1938, “Springboard Girl” from 1939, “Fishing Girl” from 1940 (horizontal image), “Skating Girl” from 1941, “Two Girls at Car” from 1942, “Menu Girl” from 1953, “Service Cart” from 1958 (horizontal image) and “Coke Fishtail Logo” from 1961. The 1938 to 1942 trays all sport a copyright date over the lower left along with “The American Art Works Inc” and “Made in USA”. Condition ranges within the collection, with the majority featuring fairly clean surfaces, ideal for display.
Each tray exhibits varying degrees of surface wear throughout, with most retaining it’s original glossy surface, with additional dings and small chips to the rims. Of note, the 1938 tray shows surface wear with a few minor blemishes, while the 1939 and 1940 trays exhibit a few scratches and small blemishes, with heavier wear to the rims. Next, the 1941 tray has just light wear present and it appears to have been cleaned at some point, with dings/blemishes to the rims the main concern on the 1942 and 1953 trays. The 1958 tray remains in beautiful condition, with just a bit of surface wear and a small blemish along the rim for the 1961 tray.
