Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019

Despite a fourth-place finish and a below .500 record, the 1948-49 Toronto Maple Leafs managed to slip into the playoffs, defeating Montreal in the semis before trouncing the season-champion Red Wings four-straight in the final for their third-consecutive Stanley Cup championship. We have an autograph page that has been signed by the 1948 Stanley Cup champion Leafs. At roughly 5” x 8” and on off-white paper, 17 signatures have been scripted in mostly fountain pen, including the legendary Bill Barilko (D. 1951) and 4 deceased HOFers; Max Bentley (D. 1984), Ted Kennedy (D. 2009), Turk Broda (D. 1972) and coach Hap Day (D. 1990). The signatures all remain bold – especially the Broda and Kennedy - with no issues, with just a light smudge to the Bentley example. An LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
Other signers include Cal Gardner, Garth Boesch, Joe Klukay, Howie Meeker, Jim Thomson, Fleming Mackell, Les Costello, Bob Dawes, Frank Mathers, Bill Ezinicki, Gus Mortson, and Vic Lynn. With just light wear to the album page itself, five horizontal fold lines are also present.
