Great lot of New Brunswick Hawks items features Steve Ludzik's Labatt-sponsored 1982-83 team rookie-of-the-year award and the Chicago Black Hawks prospect's absolutely hammered game-worn Hawks jersey. It's not an understatement, we count over 75 team repairs on this white and blue beauty of a gamer from the long-lost AHL team. Please see our website description for more information on this lot of two items from Steve Ludzik's personal collection which come with his signed LOA. Ludzik’s #9 Hawks game-worn AHL jersey is pretty much as hammered as hammered can get. The sleeves and front and rear tails are absolutely covered with sewing fixes by the minor league team’s equipment staff. Maska logos are embroidered on the right rear tail and left front tail. Fantastic red paint transfer sits on two team repairs in the middle of the right sleeve and all along the right seam as well as spread on the elbows and along the rear tail. The twill and embroidery New Brunswick Hawks logo’s blue twill fabric is wash faded and otherwise a fantastic keepsake from the early 1980s AHL squad based in Moncton, N.B.
Ludzik had 21 goals and 41 assists for 62 points to go along with his 142 penalty minutes in his pro debut with New Brunswick in 1982-83, when he also got into eight NHL games with Chicago. The Hawks team crest logo sits on a 6” square metallic insert in the middle of an 11” x 8 1/2" recessed wood plaque. The plaque is 1 1/2" thick and has Ludzik’s name on a plaque at the bottom and the Labatt logo on the “rookie of the year” plaque along the top.
