Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Originally gifted to an ailing youth at the September 18, 2007 pre-season match between Montreal and Pittsburgh and originating from just his third NHL season where he scored a league-leading 27 playoff points, we offer a signed stick used by phenom Sidney Crosby during the 2007-08 NHL season. A Reebok Sickick model with “Crosby 87” factory graphics over the upper shaft and a factory coarse grip (identified on the lower shaft), with a serial number and bar code affixed to the underside. Retaining the original white ribbed tape over the handle and black over the inserted wooden Sher-Wood blade (painted over in black), the blade exhibits just light game wear to the underside, with moderate wear to the lower shaft including marks and abrasions. Crosby has signed the taped handle in ballpoint, with the small signature displaying admirably.
