Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
A veteran of almost 500 NHL contests, Peter Popovic spent the majority of his career in Quebec with the Habs, with numerous additional seasons in the Swedish Hockey League. This Canadiens jersey was worn by the large defenceman during the mid-1990s, in either 1993-94 (rookie season) or the following season, in 1994-95. A Maska Ultrafil label and size “56” fly tag grace the collar, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests over the reverse bottom hem. Styled with the most famous team crest in hockey, “34” appears over the sleeves and verso in blue-over-red tackle twill, with “Popovic” across the affixed nameplate in single blue twill. A few marks and pulls are visible over the front and sleeves, with red paint transfer over the reverse, upper right sleeve and left elbow, with pilling to the interior and team repairs over the right (3) and left (1) sleeve. Obtained directly from the Montreal Canadiens, a signed LOA from Rejean Houle will accompany.
