Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Any and all game-used items from the fabulous 1950s are hotly contested, especially specimens that feature the game’s all-time greatest rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. We have a wonderful example, with a puck used in a Nov 29th contest in 1956 between the juggernauts. An Art Ross Tyer example that was used by the NHL from approx 1950 to 1958, both rubberized logos remain intact, with “JP” in large letters written over one logo, along with the details from the contest over the other including “Canadien – Toronto – Jeudi – 29 Nov. 1956”. A few small edge gouges are present, along with a few blemishes and indentations along the side of the puck. The Habs won the match that November evening, 4-2.
