Vintage Montreal Canadiens postcards are always highly sought by collectors, and we offer a collection that will also appeal to autograph hounds, with approx 302 postcards and other items ranging from the 1940s to 1990s, with 181 examples signed including from some of greatest Habs in history. First, we have approx 122 signed vintage 1940s to 1960s black and white postcards, approx 38 signed colour postcards from the 1970s to 1990s, and an additional 21 signed misc items including signed hockey card photo images (4, with Beliveau and Rocket Richard-3), 2005-06 Habs full tickets signed by Lafleur, Beliveau and the Pocket Rocket, 1995-96 Habs ticket stubs signed by Beliveau and Reardon, small photos signed by Rocket/Bouchard and Lafleur and more. The unsigned items are mostly postcards, with approx 69 vintage black and white postcards and 36 later colour postcards. We should also note heavy duplication within the collection including the signed specimens.
The breakdown for the signed black and white postcards includes Vachon (2), McNeil, Hodge (4), Worsley (3), Maniago, H Richard (10), Talbot (7), Marshall (4), Johnson (4), Balon (2), Turner (2), Rousseau (7), Berenson (6), Fontinato (2), Ferguson (5), Beliveau (7), Cournoyer (4), Backstrom (3), Duff (2), Goyette (7), Bonin (6), G Tremblay (4), Harris (3), Harper, Roberts (3), Hicke (4), Savard, Moore (4), Blake and Lach (2). The 38 signed colour postcards include Shutt (4), Savard 4), Beliveau (5), H Richard (2), Ferguson, Rocket (5), Cournoyer (2), Lafleur (2), and others. The majority of the signatures in the collection display beautifully, with condition of the postcards ranging, with the earlier examples showing a bit more wear including the odd crease or damaged corner. We should also note that the two 1995-96 signed stubs are heavily creased.
