One of the most beloved Toronto Maple Leafs of the modern era, Mats Sundin spent 13 seasons proudly representing the blue and white, captaining the squad for 10 of those seasons, from 1998 to 2007. The Swedish superstar is also the franchise’s all-time goal and point leader. We have a signed and photo-matched Leafs jersey worn by the HOFer in 1994-95, with this historically significant as his first ever home jersey! Netting 47 points in just 47 games during his first season with Toronto, the important garment features a Maska Ultrafil label and size “56” fly tag along the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the reverse hem. Styled with the iconic maple leaf team crest, “13” appears over the sleeves and verso in single blue twill, with matching vintage-style crests over each shoulder. Due to the 1994-95 lockout, the shortened season started on January 20th 1995 for the Leafs, and considering the fact that this jersey exhibits lots of game wear along with being photo-matched to the February 25th game, we believe this sweater to be the first home jersey worn by Sundin with the Leafs. A copy of the original MLG LOA will accompany.
A number of dark marks litter the lower front including a few large stick marks, with numerous additional marks over each sleeve. There is also a bit of blue paint transfer over each sleeve, with a slit over the lower reverse and fabric pulls throughout. Sundin has signed just above the right breast in blue marker, adding his number, and the signature displays well. An included numeric image from the February 25th 1995 game vs the Winnipeg Jets has been matched to the big black diagonal mark below the team crest (on the right) and to the "c" shape at the lower end of the mark, as well as to the big black diagonal mark below the team crest (on the left) and to the small black mark near the alternate crest on the left shoulder.
