Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Perfect pairing of goalie gloves worn by the newly-inducted member of Hockey’s Hall of Fame Martin Brodeur while with the New Jersey Devils in 2003-04. The blocker, a CCM Gatekeeper, is matched to a game-action image from the Devils 4-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on November 25th 2003 as Martin earns yet another shutout! All of the black puck marks on this one line up exactly to the photo and a digital copy will accompany the lot. The CCM Gatekeeper catching glove shows great use with loads of puck marks in the pocket. Both gloves are embroidered with "Brodeur" and Martin has added bold, black marker autographs to each glove. It should be noted that we were unable to locate any images of Brodeur using this particular model glove with black "Gatekeeper" lettering, with this example possibly seeing practice use.
Martin Brodeur holds numerous NHL and franchise records, including all-time regular season wins (691), losses (397), shutouts (125), and games played (1,266). He won at least 30 games in twelve straight seasons between 1995–96 and 2007–08 and is the only goalie in NHL history with eight 40-win seasons.
