Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
HOFers Mark Messier and Brian Leetch led the New York Rangers to their first Stanley Cup win in 54 years in 1994. Game-used sticks from each of these legends are featured here. An LOA accompanies Messier’s signed mid-1990s Rangers two-piece gamer with a Louisville Graphite Rubber shaft has his original tape jobs on the knob and blade. “Messier” is stamped on the Louisville wood blade insert that displays his bold black marker autograph and some nice game wear to the bottom edge. “Leetch 2” factory graphics sit on the front of the shaft of the 1994 Conn Smythe winner’s circa-2002-04 Rangers Easton Synergy composite gamer with his original tape job on the knob.
Leetch’s tape job was removed from the blade, which has a slight crack on the bottom edge at the heel. He used the same type of stick with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2003-04, and the Boston Bruins in 2005-06.
