A product of the University of Michigan in the NCAA who would originally go undrafted, Luke Glendening would initially sign an AHL deal with Detroit's farm club, the Grand Rapids Griffins, before the Red Wings came knocking, a club he would suit up for in a total of 554 games. Also having skated with the Dallas Stars and now a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning, offered here is this Red Wings jersey worn by Glendening in the second period of the 2017 NHL Centennial Classic agains the Toronto Maple Leafs at BMO Field in Toronto on New Years Day 2017. Made by Reebok and featuring a lone size “54” tag affixed to the inner collar, crest patches of both the NHL shield and Reebok adorn the front and back necklines respectively. Decorated over the front with Detroit’s familiar winged wheel team crest that features silver coloured embroidered details, the all-important 2017 NHL Centennial Classic event patch has been added over the right shoulder while the years that the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in have been embossed into the silver stripes of both sleeves. Having been accented with Glendening’s number “41” in dual layer tackle twill numerals, “Glendening” is spelt out in single layer red twill letters that have been arched across the upper back. Worn for just a single period of play, the jersey shows light game-wear in the form of a stick mark on the backside of the right cuff as well as staining over the front of the jersey. Having had a Red Wings team patch sewn inside the reverse hem denoting the jersey as an “Authentic Game Jersey – Centennial Classic – January 1st, 2017” specimen along with a team inventory barcode and a number reading "66801", which matches the number on the hologram that has been affixed to the accompanying Red Wings COA, a Fanatics tag numbered "CENT1164" has been sewn inside the reverse hem as well with their online system telling the tale of how it was worn in the second period of play. Regarding the photo-match, the jersey is matched with Getty Image #637870502 (January 1st, 2017 vs Toronto - 2017 NHL Centennial Classic) to the number seen heat-pressed inside the reverse hem.
