The Jean Beliveau Auction- February 2005

Sensational red dureen Calgary Cowboys jersey was worn by center Ron Chipperfield, one of the team's leaders during its brief 2-year existence. Chipperfield and Danny Lawson's 40-goal seasons in ‘75-76 helped the Cowboys to a 41-win season, although after a disappointing ‘76-77 the team ceased operations, making this a scarce and desirable WHA shirt. Tagged in the neck by Wilson in size 46, the jersey features sewn-on patches and numbers while "Chipperfield" is spelled out across the nameplate in chain-stitched white thread. Nice game use here with 16 black stick/slash/puck marks on the front, a dozen more on the right sleeve and a dozen small holes/runs that went unrepaired, the majority of them on the front. Great interior pilling to mention along with pilling at the elbows. There is some type of orangish staining at the neckline, in the number "7" on the back and on the back hem. A LOA will be included with this fabulous jersey of a long gone, short-lived team.
