Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
Peter Stastny remains one of the most influential figures in hockey history, becoming the first
European-trained player to score over 1,000 points in the NHL. After defecting from
Czechoslovakia in 1980, Stastny quickly established himself as one of the league’s premier
playmakers, recording 1,239 career points in just 977 games. He won the Calder Trophy as
Rookie of the Year in 1981 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1998.
Presented here is an outstanding example of Stastny’s 1981-82 O-Pee-Chee rookie card
(#269), graded MINT 9 by PSA. Of the 755 copies submitted to PSA over the years, this
pop-132 card is only bettered by 27 others on the PSA population report.
The card is housed in a PSA holder that remains in excellent condition, free from any noticeable
imperfections.
