Bob Gainey’s legacy in the NHL is built on his unmatched defensive prowess and leadership. As
a cornerstone of the Montreal Canadiens during their 1970s dynasty, Gainey played a pivotal
role in securing five Stanley Cup championships, including four consecutive wins from 1976 to
1979. Widely regarded as one of the best defensive forwards of all-time, Gainey’s skill and
hockey intelligence earned him the Selke Trophy four times, cementing his
reputation as a two-way force on the ice.
Offered here is an outstanding example of Gainey’s coveted 1974-75 O-Pee-Chee rookie card
(#388), graded MINT 9 by PSA. Out of the 321 copies submitted to PSA over the years, this
pop-28 example is only bettered by nine others on the PSA population report.
The card is housed in a PSA holder that remains in excellent condition, with only a few very faint
scratches visible under close inspection.
