Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025

Jacques Lemaire was the backbone of one of hockey’s greatest dynasties. A key piece of the
Montreal Canadiens during their dominant run in the 1970s, Lemaire helped lead the team to
eight Stanley Cup championships in his 12-season career—a feat few players in NHL history
can match. Known for his hockey IQ, clutch scoring, and defensive reliability, Lemaire was one
of the rare players who could change the course of a game with both his offensive creativity and
shutdown play. He scored two Stanley Cup-winning goals, including the iconic series-clincher in
1977. After his playing career, Lemaire became a highly respected coach, winning the Jack
Adams Award and leading the New Jersey Devils to a Stanley Cup championship in 1995. His
impact on the game remains deep, both as a player and a tactician.
Presented here is a 1967-68 Topps Jacques Lemaire rookie card, graded PSA 8. Out of the 272
copies submitted to PSA over the years, only nine have been graded higher than this pop-52 example, underscoring its
rarity in high condition. This offering is housed in an essentially flawless PSA holder,
further enhancing its overall appeal.
