Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
Originally founded in 1885 by Frank Fleer, the Fleer Corporation would become the first company to successfully manufacture bubble gum and remained a family owned company until 1989. Producing its first sports cards through baseball cards in 1923 and having gone on to produce some of the most important sports cards in the history of the hobby under its name such as the 1986-87 Fleer Basketball release and the first cards of players such as Rogers Clemens and Kirby Puckett, offered here is this collection of nine (9) complete Fleer Baseball sets from 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1989. Chalked full of star cards and first year rookie examples throughout all of the included sets, the cards making up their respective releases, including the key offerings of each, are found to be in the overall condition range of EX-MT to NM for their efforts, with the only real exceptions being the 1985 card of Wade Boggs, which has wear to its right border and card #118 from the 1985 of Willie Upshaw, which is damaged. Overall a great lot for those looking to add some quantity to their collection, don't miss out on these!
