Drafted by Toronto in 1966 and playing in parts of four seasons for the club, Rick Ley then played with the New England Whalers in every season of the rebel league and was inducted in the WHA HOF in 2010. This multi-signed stick was used by the Orillia native during the 1970-71 season with the Leafs. A CCM Custom Pro model with "Ley" and "2" stamped to the upper shaft, the original tape remains over the blade and handle. Moderate use is shown on the lumber including wear to the blade and handle tape as well as the underside blade. There is also a few marks and surface abrasions to the shaft. 8 players have signed one side of the shaft in either green marker or ballpoint, with a few of the green marker signatures worn away and illegible. Signers include Plante (green marker, with most of the "Jacques" worn, but the "Plante" displays well), Ullman (green marker, easily legible), Armstrong (ballpoint), along with what appears to be worn marker signatures from Glennie, Selby and three others. All 8 signatures have been covered with a coat of shellac.
