Upset when first apprised of the trade, leaving the Winnipeg Arena after practice without speaking to anyone, Teemu Selanne was dealt to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Feb 6, 1996. Adjusting to his new American home, "the Finnish Flash" would star with fellow superstar Paul Kariya, and spend parts of 15 seasons in California spread over two stints. Offered here, we present this signed stick used by Selanne as a member of the Ducks in the period of the late-2000s/early-2010s, circa the 2009-10 or 2010-11 seasons of play. An Easton S19 model offering with "Selanne" and "8" factory graphics over the upper shaft, the stick retains its original white tape job around the handle/knob and black around the front portion of the blade. Signed by Selanne with a large silver marker ink signature over the heel of the stick on the forehand side, the 2017 Hockey Hall of Fame inductee has dated the signature with a "2013" designation in matching ink. Displaying with good game-use, numerous marks and abrasions are seen throughout the length of the shaft as well as over the lower half, heel and blade while both sides of blade tape show puck and stick marks as well.
