The second (2nd) installment of the National Hockey League (NHL) sanctioned competition, occurring eight (8) years after the inaugural World Cup of Hockey in 1996 that was won by the United States of America, the 2004 edition of the world best on best competition directly preceded the pending NHL lockout and saw Team Canada claim gold by defeating Finland by a score of 3-2 in the final. Offered here, we present this Team Canada jersey that has been team signed by members of its 2004 World Cup of Hockey squad. Made by Nike and sporting size "56" and Nike labeling affixed to the inner collar, Nike swoosh logos appear over the right breast and reverse neckline while the original retail labels are still attached to the inner collar labels. a pro on-ice style garment featuring reinforced elbows and a fight strap on the interior, the front and shoulders are decorated with a mix of heritage alternate and primary Hockey Canada team crests that displays with embroidered details throughout their entirety. Signed over the front of the jersey by thirty (30) members of Team Canada's 2004 WCOH squad, those that have signed the jersey include; Brodeur, Lemieux, Sakic and Niedermayer plus St. Louis, Luongo, Iginla, Lacavalier, Theodore, Brewer, Foote, Redden, Regehr, Doan, Draper, Gagne, Heatley, Maltby, Marleau, Morrow, Richards, Smyth, Thornton and more. Remaining in overall excellent condition with no major flaws to note, the signatures themselves are also found to be in excellent condition as well. Of note, the jersey originates from the collection of Penguins and Devils long-time massage therapist Tommy Plasko and a sticker bearing his name has been affixed to the retail tags in the collar.
