Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/29/2025
The first yearly sticker set produced by O-Pee-Chee, who kept this up throughout the decade of the 1980s, the company's 1981-82 release was done in limited quantities and featured a checklist that included a total of 269-stickers in all. Featuring names such as Gretzky, Messier, Lafleur, Bossy, Sittler and more, offered here is this sealed box of packs from the 1981-82 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Stickers release. Sporting generic hockey sticker collecting graphics over the top lid and sides as well as "Hockey Album Stickers" and the original per pack purchase price of .15 cents, a still intact small circular sticker reading "O-Pee-Chee" is seen over the front edge of the box, placed at the time of production/packing to seal it. Featuring a total of one hundred (100) packs on the interior that each contain a total of four (4) stickers each, it is also worth noting that the release was sent out in limited markets, particularly Ontario and Quebec, to great success. With the stickers printed by Panini in Italy, the box is found in overall good condition, sporting some light surface wear all the way around as well as edge and corner wear as well while foxing spots/staining exist over the bottom and top which is worth mentioning for accuracy.
