Extremely popular drawing huge crowds, professional wrestling spread during the 1980s with the rise of the WWF and emergence of cable television. From that glorious era of wrestling, we offer a trio of on site posters from 1983. All in the 17" x 26" size range with matching bright red graphics, the first poster featured Wild Samoans vs Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson and four other matches, on November 8, 1983, at Hannah Penn Middle School Gym in York, Pennsylvania. The results were Swede Hanson fought Rene Goulet to a draw, Tony Garea defeated the Tonga Kid, Chief Jay Strongbow defeated the Masked Superstar via disqualification and Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson fought WWF Tag Team Champions the Wild Samoans to a double disqualification. Next, the second poster featured Ivan Putski vs George (The Animal) Steele and four other matches, on October 22, 1983 at Eastern High School Gym in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania. The results were Israel Matia fought Chuck Tanner to a draw, The Tonga Kid defeated Tony Colon, the Masked Superstar defeated Chief Jay Strongbow, Samula defeated the Tonga Kid (sub. for Jack Carson) and Ivan Putski defeated George Steele via count-out. Lastly, the third poster featured Bob Backlund WWF Champion vs George (The Animal) Steele and five other matches, on August 5, 1983 at Suburban High School in York, Pennsylvania. Originally scheduled for the show were Pete Sanchez vs. Israel Matia and Salvatore Bellomo vs. Mac Rivera. Salvatore Bellomo pinned Isreal Matia, Pete Sanchez (sub. for SD Jones) fought Don Kernodle to a draw, The Invaders defeated Tony Colon & Bob Bradley, Ivan Putski fought Sgt. Slaughter to a double disqualification and WWF World Champion Bob Backlund pinned George Steele. The poster all sport pinholes with light corner wear along with a few creases.
