Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction December 2022

Claiming their second of five straight Stanley Cup Championships during the 1956-57 season, Doug Harvey would take home the Norris Trophy as the league’s best defenseman with Jacques Plante taking home the Vezina for having allowed the fewest goals. Presented here, is this panoramic team photo of the 1956-57 Montreal Canadiens. Measuring approx. 19 ¾” x 8”, the vintage period print is the photo of Famous Studios but the piece is void of their stamp on the reverse side. Arched around the centre ice circle at the Montreal Forum, HOFers pictured include Maurice Richard, Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard, Jacques Plante, Dickie Moore, Doug Harvey, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Bert Olmstead and Tom Johnson. Displaying in good condition, light edge and corner wear is present, along with light toning around the edges on both the front and reverse. An excellent piece to add to any advanced Canadiens collection.
